Our Seven Values

In line with our VALUES below, we only begin working with you AFTER:

A no obligation, zero cost conversation has been held outlining your perceptions of your mentoring and / or organisation development needs and whether our approach matches them and your culture (both 'real' (i.e. at present) and potential (i.e. your desired future and realised possibilities).

As a result, either nothing happens or we will send you a PROPOSAL of how we may be able to help, what will be involved and how much it will cost.

As a result, either nothing happens or we make agreed changes to the proposal or we agree to work together.

You're in control, the choice is yours what happens next?, of course.

If we work together, then the 'magic' begins in your business and your people and YOU and ME.

For us, we like and use these definitions of 'values':

values are the beliefs people have, especially about what is right and wrong and what is most important in life, that control their behaviour

and

values are the principles that help you to decide what is right and wrong, and how to act in various situations

WHY DO WE LIKE THEM?

Because they are clear and simple and common sense.

That makes it hard to 'dodge' the meaning or 'bend' our values when it might be convenient but it would be the wrong thing to do.

It's very handy to have such clarity and simplicity when in grey areas of right and wrong or in a complex adaptive system, where it is unknowable and unpredictable in terms of outcomes, until they emerge or just happen.

What Are Our Seven Values?

Firstly, we will work collaboratively with you in everything we do.

We won’t do anything TO or FOR you and your people, we’ll do it WITH you and your people and we'll help you to help yourself so you won’t become dependent on us (or anyone else)

Second, we will work transparently with you – no secrets or hidden agendas; no mystique or unnecessary jargon; no 'hidden' costs just open communications designed to achieve high levels of mutual trust and respect, ownership, involvement, performance and self-responsibility by people

Third, we will work with you as partners.

In particular, we’ll work together to achieve synergistic results through effective application as a team.

We won’t leave you to struggle in applying learnings to the real situation, we’ll be there with you to help people move up their learning and experience curves

Fourth, we will work with you holistically.

That is, we’ll view your organisation, and its people, as an integrated whole.

We’ll make sure that we help you deal with, and develop, the connections needed to make it all work smoothly

Fifth, we’ll help you, and your people, to do the right things, and get the results demanded by performance indicators, in a self-sustaining, and continuously improving way.

With 30 years experience under our belts we know that this is not always easy to do.

Running a business is a complex adaptive system with many interacting variables making it impossible to predict or know what might happen, until it does.

And we know and understand that it can get lonely at the top sometimes

Sixth, we’ll work with you to value differences and use them to discover new effective approaches.

We’ll be trusting and trustworthy.

We expect to challenge you and to be challenged by you.

We expect to support you and to be supported by you

Seventh, we won’t tell you what you want to hear – we’ll share with you what we believe you need to hear. It is the right and respectful thing to do, we believe

We’ll say what we mean and mean what we say.

If we preach at all, we’ll only preach what we practice.

In addition, we’ll ask you to appraise our performance openly; share your honest feedback; and help us to learn how best we can help you – because our bespoke approach will be tailor-made to your specific needs and how these may change.

Importantly, we'll focus on your context – we have over 30 years’ experience of mentorship and organisational development and we understand how to work with you to translate our innovative approaches to match your specific circumstances.

We will always help you to help yourself because it is your business, not ours, and you will be working with it and improving it long after we leave.
